Shape to Portrait Challenge
From Simple Shapes to Extraordinary Faces
Entry limit: 1 participant per school
What this event involves
Each participant draws a random shape in a lucky dip, then transforms it into an original portrait — human, mythological, cartoon, fantasy or futuristic.
The original shape must stay clearly visible in the finished artwork, and each entry is submitted with a short artist statement.

Key rules
- 1The allotted shape cannot be exchanged, erased or removed.
- 2The original shape must remain clearly visible in the final artwork.
- 3No tracing, copying, reference images or electronic devices.
- 4Only materials provided by the organisers may be used.
- 5Both the artwork and the artist statement must be completed in time.
