What this event involves
Turn an ordinary stick of chalk into a miniature sculpture. Participants carve a standard chalk stick into an imaginative three-dimensional piece based on a theme announced only at the start of the event.
The challenge rewards patience, precision and craftsmanship far more than speed.

What to bring or prepare
- Approved hand tools only — craft knives, needle tools, toothpicks or sculpting tools
- Optional adhesives, paints, glitter and decorative materials
Key rules
- 1Each participant receives two standard white chalk sticks — one main and one spare.
- 2The theme is announced only at the start; 5 minutes are allowed for planning or sketching.
- 3Only the chalk provided by the organisers may be used. No pre-carved or pre-designed work.
- 4Broken pieces may be reworked only if they remain part of the original chalk — separate pieces cannot be glued together.
- 5Power tools are strictly prohibited. All safety instructions must be followed.
